A Comforting Embrace
Drizzles from the rain
Welcome to I Sea Poetry & Art, a reader-supported newsletter of anything nature.
The Story
In the tropical island where I am now, it’s the monsoon season and we get heavy rains a lot. One day at work, only few customers settled in the cafe, and I sat down to stare blankly at the sea while I listened to the raindrops at peace.
Here is a simple art for the soul.
I placed the subtle water ripples in the foreground and darkened the trees in the background to imply how we perceive the mood of rain.
Then I highlighted the umbrella to emphasize the bright side of it.

A Comforting Embrace
These drizzles make me wonder
about the voices and the breeze
when we only see disaster
we forget about the peace
As the rain pours hard
I hear it calling us to stop
See the puddles in the sand
Water vibrations when they drop
These moments make me feel
all the weight released down
like the rain helps me through
heavy burdens I carry around
You see, it’s not a sad weather
but a comforting embrace
to pull yourself together
‘til it gives back the sunny days.

Beautiful poem and sketch. The poem feels lyrical too. Thanks, Astrid. ✨✨
